“A key point is sustainability; assemblers don’t focus only on the quality of the auto parts that are manufactured here. If they do not comply with some minimum sustainability, they will not accept them, even if they have certifications”, he warned.

For this reason, at the Expo Fabtech Mexico, which will be held from May 3 to 5 at Cintermex, a series of conferences and business meetings will be held.

The Sustainable Supply Chain panel will be held as a business strategy, in which Juan Carlos Meade will participate; Clarissa Villarreal, Heineken Sustainability Manager; Icela García, Focus Factory Manager at Siemens, and Roberto Riva Palacio, Senior Manager of Institutional Relations and Sustainability at Home Depot.

Another panel in which the director of Productive Chains will participate is The Role of Foreign Direct Investment in the Development of the Industry, where they will talk about a linking platform that allows them to search for business opportunities, which will be made available to providers.

The official explained that the platform will be designed “for all providers who register with Fabtech and want to establish themselves in the state. We want to be able to map and for foreign companies to be able to make a quicker decision to find specialized suppliers”.

Marcela Ordaz, commercial director of the event, commented that in this 17th edition of Fabtech, 350 companies and 25 countries will be represented.

He highlighted that Monterrey is becoming an industrial hub, which is why they expect more than 8,000 qualified visitors.
