Delfina Gómez rejects accusations for electoral tithe

Delfina Gómez Álvarez responded to the PAN senators María Guadalupe Saldaña Cisneros and Xóchitl Gálvez that “right now” what she is most interested and passionate about “is education” and that she will continue as Secretary of Public Education because it has “moral quality”.

“If your attention, secretary, and I say it with all due respect, is to seek a future candidacy, let this responsibility be left because it takes up full time and energy, because in education, it must be said, they are failed (.. .) It is urgent to stop this tragedy that is being experienced in the education sector ”, suggested Saldaña Cisneros, referring to her clear interest in running again, championed by Morena, for the governorship of the State of Mexico in 2023.

Gálvez asked Gómez Álvarez during his appearance before the branch commission of the Chamber of Senators to analyze the Third Government Report of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, “if he should not separate from office to attend” the complaints against him, two filed by her, on alleged diversion of resources.

“And I have to be very honest with you, teacher. I filed a complaint with you in the Electoral Crimes Prosecutor’s Office and in the Mexico State Prosecutor’s Office, because here the garment is torn talking about corruption, but it is very clear that the INE and the Electoral Court confirmed that there is a deviation of 13 millions of pesos”.

The appearing party considered that she had no reason to leave office.

“Regarding the situation of the INE, all I want to say is that I appreciate that question, because first of all, I want to thank everyone, everyone, everyone who sent me a message and gave me their situation trustworthy, I thank my family, my friends, my classmates, my students, everyone who knows me, they know that I would never, ever do something like that and that I have precisely that moral quality to be here.

“Otherwise, I would not actually be here because my parents, my family and my friends taught me, above all, neatness in a job and in the performance of a function.”
