Czech billionaire Daniel Kretinsky takes a stake in TF1

Mr. Kretinsky, who had also submitted a takeover offer for the M6-RTL group, is now in favor of the TF1-M6 merger. The merger between the two channels, scheduled for the end of 2022, was unanimously approved on June 24 by the employee representative bodies of Bouygues, TF1 and M6. But he still has to obtain the consent of the Superior Audiovisual Council and the Competition Authority. The latter must in particular decide on the very significant market share that the new group would obtain in the television advertising sector.
