True North Sports and Entertainment says that increased restrictions announced Monday by health officials have led to the decision not to have fans in the stands at the Canada Life Center until at least January 11.
That includes the Winnipeg Jets’ games against Seattle and Minnesota on January 8 and 10, as well as two Manitoba Moose games on January 2 and 4.
Moose’s games against Abbotsford on December 30 and 31 have been postponed by the AHL.
Health officials in Manitoba announced Monday that indoor and outdoor public gatherings, including ticketed sporting events, cannot exceed 50 percent of capacity or 250 people, whichever is less, starting at 12 noon: 01 am on Tuesday.

The NHL had already postponed Winnipeg’s home games scheduled for Monday night and Wednesday against Minnesota and Chicago, respectively, due to COVID-related concerns.
Unless more changes are made, the Jets’ next game is scheduled for Friday night in Calgary.
True North says it will be in contact with Jets and Moose ticket holders soon about what the next steps will be for the affected games.
