Construction of a slaughterhouse in Ezequiel Montes would cost 80 million pesos: Secretariat of Agricultural Development


Queretaro, Qro. In Ezequiel Montes, one of the main meat-producing municipalities in the state, the construction of the slaughterhouse is getting ready, which will cost approximately 80 million pesos.

The project is in the final stage of the bidding process, with construction expected to begin in the next few days, explained the Secretary of Agricultural Development (Sedea) of the state, Rosendo Anaya Aguilar.

“The trail of Ezekiel Montes it is already in the final stage of the bidding process, we had to do the first part (of the steps) (…) but later, public works will have the construction, in the next few days it will start, because the bidding is in the final stage,” he reported.

The state secretary estimated that the construction of the trail will last six months, so it could be ready this year. “I would hope that in days I can start, the investment already at the beginning of what was considered, subject to adjusting the projects, because it will be like that, it will be different (…) it is 80 million pesos, subject to review the project.

It is an initiative in which the meat producers of the municipality, the municipal presidency and the state government of Queretaro.

For the construction of the slaughterhouse, the producers associated with the Regional Livestock Union of Querétaro (UGRQ) They donated a piece of land.

This project is part of the works plan outlined by the state government, for 1,000 million pesos in five municipalities of the state (Corregidora, Jalpan de Serra, Ezequiel Montes, Pedro Escobedo and Querétaro), which was announced in early February by the governor, Mauricio Kuri Gonzalez.

According to the Secretariat of Sustainable Development (Headquarters), through the Querétaro Competitive Economic Yearbook, 2021 edition, the value of annual livestock production in the state amounted to 18,489.1 million pesos in 2019.

Of the total value, Ezequiel Montes was the main contributor, contributing a value of 3,747.0 million pesos, 20.3% of the state value. They soon meet Colon and Tequisquiapanalso as leading municipalities in livestock production in the state.

The entity has a livestock inventory of around 43 million 468,665 units: mainly poultry for meat, poultry for eggs; as well as livestock units for pigs, beef cattle, sheep, among other species, details information from the Headquarters.
