A five-year-old boy was killed and another seriously injured after a school bus collided with a bucket truck Tuesday afternoon.

The tragic accident occurred in the city of Lyster, What., About two hours from Montreal, the eighth rang Ouest, near Fillion Road and Route Anna.

According to the Société des Alcools du Québec, at around 3:30 p.m., the bus collided with the truck, which was carrying two maintenance workers parked on the shoulder of the road.

The two workers were not seriously injured according to officials.

The bus driver, a man in his 70s, was taken to hospital, but his life is not in danger.

Louis-Philippe Bibeau, a spokesman for SQ, said the driver was traveling west and the sun may have been a blinding factor.

An investigator and an accident scene reconstruction specialist were dispatched to study the scene.
