Charges Filed After Man Was Chased With A Baseball Bat: Guelph Police – Guelph | The Canadian News

Guelph police say a 41-year-old man was arrested Saturday afternoon after a drug-related incident involving a baseball bat.

Police say the victim started the incident after she initially went to the suspect’s home and accused him of breaking into her home.

Investigators say the suspect chased the individual with a bat, swinging the gun while yelling death threats.

“Police located the suspect and arrested him,” Guelph police said in a news release.

In the statement, police say the suspect experienced a psychotic episode after ingesting unknown substances.

They say the suspect was taken to hospital to be cleared by a doctor.

Police say they received multiple calls about a man chasing the individual with a bat down Huron Street around 2:30 p.m.

However, no injuries were reported.

A 41-year-old man faces multiple charges, including assault with a weapon, making threats and failing to comply with a release order.

Police say the man is expected to appear in bond court on Tuesday.
