Catalonia has registered until this Tuesday 1,232,629 cumulative confirmed cases of coronavirus Since the beginning of the pandemic – 1,146,459 with a PCR test or antigen test – 23,850 more than in Monday’s count, reports the Ministry of Health of the Generalitat through its website.

In the last 24 hours 31 deaths have been recorded and the total number of deaths is 24,484: there are 15,638 in hospital or health center, 4,663 in residence, 1,276 at home and 2,907 that are not classifiable due to lack of information.

Regarding the patients currently admitted, the figure stands at 1,503, 46 more than in the last count.

A total of 404 patients are admitted to intensive care units (ICU) of public and private centers, five more than in the last count: 273 require invasive ventilation (intubation), nine require extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), and 122 require support without intubation.

The speed of reproduction of the disease (rt) rises to 1.73 and the percentage of positivity of the antigen and PCR tests stands at 15.63%, while the cumulative incidence in the last 14 days is 1,513.37 per 100,000 inhabitants and the mean age of confirmed cases is 34.36 years.

The rate of risk of regrowth has risen: on Monday it stood at 2,029 and 24 hours later it is at 2,526.

Vaccination

Catalonia has administered the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine a total of 6,269,037 people since the vaccination campaign began, of which 6,061,166 already have the complete schedule: there are 4,486 new immunized in the last 24 hours.

In percentages, 79.1% of the Catalan population is vaccinated with at least one dose of the vaccine, while 76.2% already have the complete vaccination schedule.
