Carrefour celebrates these days its first employment forum in Catalonia with the aim of selecting and capturing talent to cover more than 1,500 positions in the summer campaign. The company thus carries out the largest contracting in the sector in this community. Carrefour also wants the organization of this job fair to serve as a means of communication with the town councils, the public employment service of Catalonia (SOC), as well as foundations and associations related to labor integration.
The profiles demanded by the distribution company for its Catalan hypermarkets and supermarkets are related to direct customer service such as a checkout line, counters and points of sale for fresh products, replenishment, technology or electrical appliances, to which other positions are also added as store managers, commercial managers or professionals of fresh products, among others. The company, which receives a million resumes a year, will collect the job applications of all those interested in its job offer during these sessions and will conduct interviews with the candidates during the forum to speed up the hiring process.

The forum has been designed to cover the Catalan geography during the month of May, visiting, in addition to the city of Barcelona, other regions such as Maresme, Baix Llobregat, Vallés, or cities such as Girona or Tarragona. The Carrefour hiring policy aims to serve the customer effectively, so listening to their needs and responding to their demands are the axes on which its strategy is based.
The starting point of this meeting between Carrefour and employment takes place between today and tomorrow in Barcelona, in the Mediatic building of Barcelona Activa. For these first two days, the chain has had the collaboration of the Barcelona City Council both in the organization of the event, and in the dissemination of offers, selection of profiles and the transfer of space to carry out the day.

Starting next week, the forum will visit other towns and spaces in the area of Vallés-Sant Cugat (May 10 and 11), Tarragona (May 16 and 17), Girona (May 18, in the Mercé cloister), Baix Llobregat (May 19 and 20, in the Economic Promotion Occupation Center room El Prat) and Badalona/Maresme (May 23 and 24).
Carrefour, which inaugurated its presence in the country with the opening of the Prat hypermarket in 1973, currently has 7,100 collaborators in Catalonia. At the national level, it has a workforce that exceeds 58,500 collaborators under banner and is confirmed, year after year, as one of the main employers in the country.
