Windsor, it’s going to be a rainy one today.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Windsor and Essex County, as well as Chatham-Kent in advance of expected thunderstorms into this evening.

The region can expect rainfall of 20 to 30 mm by this evening, with as much as 40 mm of rain possible in areas that typically receive heavier downpours during a thunderstorm, Environment Canada warned.

Expected downpours can cause water pooling on roads, and drivers are asked to take extra care and leave extra time when traveling today.
