The defense of the former president, in which Víctor Oléa and Gabriel García participate, requested that the term not be extended and that the cause for which Rodríguez Calderón was arrested be resolved yesterday, last Tuesday, March 15.

As will be remembered, the former president was arrested outside a ranch in the municipality of General Terán in compliance with an arrest warrant issued by a Control and Oral Trial judge of the state of Nuevo León, for his probable participation in acts with characteristics of crimes. electoral.

On the other hand, the former president’s defense processed four amparos, of which he obtained one that was granted by the First District Court for Criminal Matters in Monterrey.

The protection obtained would have the purpose that the former governor would not be held incommunicado while he is imprisoned.

Case of alleged corruption

Yesterday it was also announced that the former governor is facing a new complaint from the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office due to the requisition of the Ecovía that he ordered in October 2016 during his term.

The complainant was the legal representative of the company Servicios de Transporte Tecno Ecológicos SA de CV, Abelardo Martínez.

For this reason, the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office requested a hearing before the State Judicial Power, to charge the former governor and three other former officials who would be Jorge Longoria Treviño, former director general of the Agency for the Rationalization and Modernization of the Public Transport System.
