Last week, the couple traveled to Ottawa to participate in the siege with truckers. This time, the children wanted to be on the trip, says the owner of a family daycare center in Trois-Rivières.

From Thetford Mines, Catherine and Pierre-Michel came to demonstrate in Quebec with their six-year-old child and their 20-month-old and 10-month-old babies.

“We’re starting to work again this week, but if there’s more next week, we’ll be there,” said Catherine, from Thetford Mines, who came with her spouse, Pierre-Michel, and their children.

For her part, Marie-Gabrielle Cantin believes that the pandemic has had devastating effects on the school career of her children.

Her youngest never had a “normal” school year and her oldest developed agoraphobia from being constantly distanced, she claims.

“We have to give them back their freedom, the life they had. Their educational path is completely mortgaged right now and that’s what touches me, ”she laments.

Ms. Cantin, who plans to return today, has decided to involve her children so that they are aware of “what we are doing for them”.

In the same vein, several voices have been heard about the return of sports competitions, and this, without a mask.

The event was mainly festive and convivial. But the organizers of the convoy made contemptuous remarks towards the media and the authorities.

In a short speech inviting civility from his troops, Bernard “Rambo” Gauthier hinted that the police “had orders” to cause problems for the demonstrators. “The police are not all lights (sic)”, he launched.

As for him, the coordinator of the People’s Party of Canada (PPC) in Quebec, Daniel Brisson, denied the consequences of the pandemic in front of a frenzied crowd.

“It’s not a health crisis, it’s a political crisis of population control! he asserted. Remember that there have been 13,500 deaths in Quebec linked to COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.

Members of the Conservative Party of Quebec were present.

Claude Pommerleau, a conservative activist from Beauce, was part of the demonstration.

“In October, we will vote for the Conservative Party and kick Legault out. And we are removing all the laws he made for a flu that everyone is hoodwinking, ”said Beauceron Claude Pommerleau, who became a PCQ activist because of health measures. He had also voted for the CAQ in the last elections.
