Colau opens the door to suspend the parade as well
The mayor of Barcelona, Ada Colau, has announced that she is suspending the New Year’s Eve show planned on Avenida de Maria Cristina, in front of the Fonts de Monjuïc, due to the restrictions announced by the Generalitat de Catalunya in the face of the sixth wave of covid. The popular festival, which aims to become the Barcelona counterpart to the popular celebrations of the New Year in other cities, is affected, according to Colau, by the curfew, which will prevent going out between 1 and 6 in the early morning, even on New Years Eve.

The mayor has also put on hold a possible cancellation of the Three Kings parade, which in Barcelona brings together thousands of people in the streets. According to Colau, it remains for the moment, but a meeting has been called to analyze the situation.
