The Economy of mexico will grow by 6% this year, as predicted, the president said on Thursday Andrés Manuel López Obrador, despite the fact that it contracted more than expected in the third quarter.

The Mexican economy registered the first post-pandemic fall in the third quarter of the year, completing a 0.4% decrease in real terms and with figures adjusted for seasonality compared to the previous quarter, confirmed the National Institute of Statistic and Geography (Inegi).

He stressed that the number of workers registered in social security that was before the pandemic has already been exceeded. “We are about to reach 21 million workers registered in social security, that is why I speak of the V, we fell with the pandemic in 1 million 500,000 jobs, we have already recovered one million 500,000 jobs and we are like 400,000 up, that until yesterday” , said.
