AMLO assures that his government will continue to support Pemex and the CFE

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador reiterated this Wednesday that his Government will continue to support Pemex, when asked if his administration will continue to assume the debt repayments of the state oil company, as it has done this year.

Pemex, the largest company in the country, has a financial debt of 113,000 million dollars and the president announced this year that the Treasury would assume the amortizations of 2021, of about 6.300 million dollars, to allow the firm to have more free resources.

“We will continue to support, Pemex’s debt is sovereign. We will support Pemex Yet the Federal Electricity Commission“, said AMLO in his usual press conference from the National Palace.

The first president has said that his government has rescued the oil giant and the CFE, which he claims was almost ruined by the neoliberal practices of his predecessors, whom he accuses of having nearly ruined them.

We are not going to allow Pemex to go bankrupt, “he said.
