Public health has therefore asked citizens to remain vigilant since the virus is still circulating in the region.

“The situation has improved and we are now in transition to a more normal life. I think she is welcome. Right now, what we have to remember is that we are still in winter. I think the weather conditions will remind us of that too. And that means that the virus and the respiratory viruses have not disappeared, ”explained the director of public health for Bas-Saint-Laurent, the Dr Sylvain Leduc.

“So we just want to make sure people understand that it’s okay. We are in transition to a more normal life, but we must remain cautious, despite everything, because the virus can still affect several people and especially people who are more vulnerable, ”he added.

Bas-Saint-Laurent had 22 hospitalizations on Thursday, including five in intensive care.

Including rapid tests, public health has estimated that there are a few hundred cases reported every day in the territory.

A transition to more normal life is therefore taking place with these new relaxations from Saturday. People who have had contact with a case of COVID-19 and who have no symptoms will then no longer have to isolate themselves, but they will still have to wear the mask for 10 days.
