The Bird Three e-scooter is now being tested at Lansdowne Park in Ottawa

Bird Canada announced the launch of an e-scooter pilot at Lansdowne Park in Ottawa to showcase the Bird Three e-scooter model. Ottawa is the first city in Canada to have a chance to preview new features, which will promote proper parking, curbside, and more.

This technology will be available in Lansdowne until the end of the 2021 “scooter season,” according to the press release.

The new models will feature in-vehicle sensors that prevent curbside traffic in real time. The scooter will inform passengers via an audible and visual “Exclusion Zone” warning sent to their mobile devices. It will also appear on the vehicle when the user steps onto a sidewalk.

Also, the e-scooter will slow down and stop, so that the driver can get off the e-scooter.

Another update is an AI verified parking enforcement feature. The AI ​​will now make sure it is properly parked.

These new e-scooters will also make an audible noise at set intervals to alert pedestrians of approaching e-scooters.

Another new feature of the new model is the ‘Beginner Mode’, which will slow down the acceleration, limit the maximum speed and teach users to ride an electric scooter. There is also a smooth throttle feature that will allow new riders to gradually reach top speed.

Meanwhile, a safety feature that will make riders pass a test to unlock the e-scooter to avoid drunk driving after 10pm.
