“2022 will be the year of consolidation of projects for CDMX”: Claudia Sheinbaum

2022 will be the year in which the most important projects that seek to transform the dynamics of Mexico City are consolidated, assured the Head of Government, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.

When presenting his third accountability report, he explained that one of the objectives that were established from the beginning of his mandate was to achieve that public and private investments reconfigure the current urban space, giving rise to sustainability, generation of new specialized industries , as well as integrated mobility.

Given this, he explained that for next year 31 actions will be carried out that have to do with the consolidation of the work plan that began at the end of 2018; Two of them involve the most important projects in economic matters: Vallejo-i and the Central de Abasto solar plant, which will already operate and generate investment.

The Vallejo-i project was generated in 2019, the objective of which is to establish more companies in this area and thereby create the most important industrial innovation cluster in the Valley of Mexico. While the Central de Abasto project consists of installing a public urban solar field on the roof of the largest wholesale market on the planet.

“In 2022 we will inaugurate the largest solar plant in any city in the world, with an installed capacity of 27 MW that we develop in coordination with the Ministry of Energy and the CFE on the roofs of the Central de Abasto”, said Sheinbaum Pardo.

He pointed out that the conclusion of these works can be carried out according to what is projected in the Economic Package for next year.

“For the year 2022 we have delivered a responsible Economic Package that increases the budget by 7.9% to the mayors and 3.4% to the central government,” he said from the Palacio de Minería.

The 2022 Economic Package is based mainly on two budgetary axes, the Sustainable City with 99,008.9 million pesos, which represents 42% of the 234,000 million projected for next year. Within this area, 128 programs are proposed focused on promoting sustainable economic development, job creation, alternative energy sources, as well as land use planning.

Another of the axes that takes the highest amount is Better Mobility, of 39,561.6 million pesos (17% of the total).

The president informed that the elevated trolleybus will also be completed next year, in addition, in coordination with the Mexican government, there will be the Chalco-Tláhuac trolleybus and the modernization of Line A of the Metro.

At the same time, the new command and control center for lines 1 to 6 of the Metro will be installed, as well as the comprehensive modernization of the electricity supply, including changing transformers and substation of Line 1.

“We will finish the reconstruction of Metro Line 12 in coordination with the companies that originally participated in its construction. The comprehensive modernization program for Line 1 will begin, which includes changing tracks, new systems and new trains. Comprehensive maintenance will be given to the stations of various lines, including Pantitlán ”, he deepened.

The acquisition of 200 new buses for the Passenger Transport Network (RTP) will be achieved, in addition to the existing 300 for a total of 500 new units.

100 trolleybuses will also be purchased, in addition to the current 200, and seven trains for the Light Train; In addition, progress will be made in the replacement of the 2,000 minibuses in the city and that the concessioned transport operates with the Integrated Mobility Card.

The head of government announced that a new Cablebus route will be made for the Chapultepec project; Similarly, a fourth route is being evaluated and will be defined in January 2022.

The recovery plan for the Xochimilco canals and the San Gregorio lagoon will be completed and the intervention in the Tláhuac Forest, in Magdalena Mixhuca, Periférico Oriente and the third stage of the Gran Canal will be completed.
