The contagions of the sixth wave in Catalonia are about to double the maximum reached in July. In contrast, deaths only account for 5% of the peak recorded in the first wave.

Those same days, the Catalan ucis also registered the maximum occupancy with patients affected by covid-19. Currently, the pressure on critical units represents 27% of what there was then.
And all this, at a time when the appearance of new daily cases breaks the statistics every day. With the 22,871 notified this Wednesday, Catalonia already exceeds by 80% the maximum of new infections in a single day, which had occurred the week of July 12, in the middle of the fifth wave. And it almost triples those of the second wave, now a year ago.
