It sounds like a bad joke at first, but it’s true: Adolf Hitler was re-elected. Of course, in this case it is not about the Austro-German Nazi, but about a man from Namibia.
Adolf Hitler Uunona from Namibia is a freedom fighter and lives in the north of the African country. He was elected district administrator of Ompundja, a district near the Namibian-Angolan border.
As the “Bild” reported, the 54-year-old got 84.88 votes for his party Swapo. And that although the party actually lost a lot in the elections. “The fact that I have this name does not mean that I am striving for world domination”, Adolf Uunona said with a laugh to “Bild”.
The meaning of the name was not clear at first
“I don’t think my father knew what the name Adolf Hitler stood for.” It sounds unusual, but it isn’t at all. Because old German first names like Adolf are not uncommon in the former German colony of German South West Africa, which is now Namibia.
However, Adolf does not reproach his father. It was named after Adolf Hitler without the latter knowing what the name stood for.
“It was a very normal name for me as a child. It was not until I was growing up that I realized that this man wanted to subjugate the whole world. I have nothing to do with any of these things. “
