Zelensky launches global funding campaign to help Ukraine

the ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky launched this Thursday a global funding campaign to help his country win the war against Russia and rebuild infrastructure damaged by the conflict.

“In one click, you can donate funds to help our defenders, save our civilians and rebuild Ukraine,” Zelensky said in English in a video posted on his Twitter account, announcing the launch of the platform, called United24.

“Every donation counts towards victory,” he added.

After nine weeks of russian invasionUkrainian cities have suffered significant damage.

“All the funds will be transferred to the national bank of Ukraine and assigned to the relevant ministries,” Zelensky said, explaining that his government will provide an update “every 24 hours” on how that money is used.

The Ukrainian leader called on ordinary people around the world to help his country to defeat Moscow. “Only together do we have the potential to stop the war and rebuild what Russia has destroyed,” he said.

Despite the military aid received from Western countries, the Ukrainian army is far inferior to the Russian one.

Its President Zelensky has addressed parliaments around the world almost daily asking for more support.
