This parliamentary committee has been investigating for almost a year the riot of January 6, 2021, when supporters of the former head of state invaded the Assembly on the day of the certification of Joe Biden’s victory.

The elected officials seek to demonstrate that Donald Trump’s rejection of the results was part of a well-considered strategy to keep power.

They posted numerous videos of their hearings, the day in question, and excerpts from reports and interviews on YouTube.

The one withdrawn by the Google platform included an interview where the Republican billionaire assured that votes intended for him had been given to Joe Biden, without notes in the video or in the caption to indicate that it was a lie or that there is no evidence to support this charge.

“Our Election Integrity Policy prohibits content that includes false claims that fraud, error, or glitches changed the outcome of the 2020 U.S. presidential election, unless appropriately contextualized,” recalled Ivy Choi, a spokeswoman for the service contacted by AFP.

“We apply our rules equally for everyone and we removed the video posted by the channel of the commission of January 6”, she added.

Donald Trump had begun even before the election took place to mention the risk of fraud. Since his defeat, he has not stopped defending his theory that the presidential election was “stolen” from him.

The so-called “January 6” commission, made up of seven Democrats and two Republicans, heard from nearly 1,000 witnesses, including two children of the former president, to shed light on Donald Trump’s actions after the election. .

She did not immediately respond to a request from AFP about the video removed from YouTube.
