YOU SAID IT: We just needed a no

Here are today’s letters from the Ottawa Sun to the editor.

WE ONLY NEED ONE NO

Can anyone give me a convincing answer as to why we are having this useless choice? The fact that the new GG approved this makes me wonder why we even have a GG. Mark Bonokoski was right when he said that she could have said no and listed the reasons.

I have lost respect for GG’s position because, in my opinion, it is nothing more than a rubber stamp for the ruling party. I’m sure Mary May Simon is a very nice lady who has done many wonderful things, but her decision to give Trudeau the green light for this futile choice is not one of them.

I can’t wait for this campaign to end because I can no longer look at our acting prime minister without getting physically ill. With all these federal parties splitting the vote (one of them is only interested in one province), I don’t think we have a true democracy in this country.

I hope I am not disappointed on Election Day.

(The convention meant that May Simon had to agree to the prime minister’s request, although voters will have the final say.)

IT’S NOT OUR FAULT

Whoops, there is a lot of smoke and mirrors on why the cases are going up. I’m tired, like most, of all the negativity from higher governments, the media, and smart-ass doctors that keep making the news. Everyone blames the people who don’t get vaccinated. I think the people of Ontario stepped up and did a fantastic job getting vaccinated.

And on the other hand, we had the federal government, which said not to worry when COVID-19 started, was slow to get vaccines, and initially delayed the interval between the first and second injections.

You get my point: stop blaming people for not getting vaccinated, blame the man in charge. Yes, Mr. Trudeau, he is the reason the cases are increasing. If it had stopped all international flights, we would not be in this mess.

DON PUGLIESE

KANATA

(A lot of guilt when it comes to the COVID response.)

THE BLAME GAME

While driving through Kanata recently, I couldn’t help but notice all of the Conservative Party and People’s of Canada posters that were vandalized. Using liberal logic, I assume this is all Justin Trudeau’s fault. No?

MIKE SHURTLIFF

KANATA

(Sign vandalism is never okay, but unfortunately, it happens in every election.)

HARD TO SEE

It’s getting very difficult to watch these seemingly endless elections. What about this guy Justin Trudeau and his fanatic obsession with guns and his uncontrollable desperation to disarm all legal gun owners in Canada?

He never mentions criminals and gang members who rampage with imported weapons, nor does he have any apparent interest in tracking down “ghost weapons” that can be purchased online and assembled at home. He has even tried to include the gun problems they have in the United States to reinforce his theory. Then, to add insult to injury, he says there is a plan to buy back guns, but he never admits that the buyback money is our own tax money.

The only sunny day I can see in the future is the day we finally see the last of this person and their supposed sunny forms.

WEBB INVOICE

OTTAWA

(Trudeau and his team clearly see guns as a wedge problem that can stop the conservative momentum.)
