Re: Drowned protest; Transgender protesters greet traveling protester, October 20
I was very upset to see the news video of the “poor excuse” of a buffoon using sandwich boards who feels compelled to travel from school to school and bully children.
What a sad life you must have if you think it’s okay to show up to school and literally mess with those who don’t fit your “ideology.” Online bullying, phone bullying, and physical bullying are not tolerated in any society, so why was it allowed to happen? If you want to make a statement, go to City Hall, Parliament Hill or the media (as I do), but leave the kids alone! It’s none of your damn business.
I was glad to see Catherine McKenney come face to face with him for these children, but maybe the mayor of our city could have shown up to advocate for the children as well. Inform this idiot that he is not welcome in or near our schools.

MOVE ON
The concerns expressed regarding personal information provided to our government are indeed very valid. However, this transmission of personal information, carried out voluntarily by the majority, has been going on for decades.
I would not rest my combative hat on this vaccination QR code. That’s not much different from closing the barn door after the horses are gone. Credit cards, loyalty cards, online shopping, Facebook, Instagram, health cards, bank cards, cashless purchases, drug prescriptions, and travel manifests to name a few. They all track our habits, shopping patterns, finances, health issues, and DNA!
Frankly, “they” know more about us than we know about ourselves. Get vaccinated, get tests, go ahead.

(There will always be an excuse for those who don’t want to get vaccinated … for whatever reason they have. Raising concerns about privacy isn’t unreasonable, but if that’s your reason for doing so, you’d better turn off the phone.)
LAST ON LIST
It really puzzles me that when the water in Iqaluit was reported to be contaminated with fuel, the government did not send its DART unit to help supply clean water to residents.
Charity is supposed to start at home, but it seems Canadians are last on that list.

Deer chase
Visualizing this encounter could make your day. The local deer have been gnawing on my wife’s plants from time to time during the night hours for several weeks. This morning, when she went out to feed and water the birds, a doe and her two teenage calves had the audacity to stand in the garden and look at her without showing fear or respect.

It was a big mistake! My wife’s reaction was instantaneous. He kicked them out of his garden, out of our garden and down the street. Deer are likely to keep running for their lives as I write.
Upon reflection, I concluded that under the right circumstances, my wife could set a new Olympic record in the women’s 100-meter sprint. There’s just one problem: getting the International Olympic Committee to allow some deer to stand past the finish line and stare nonchalantly at my wife as she chews on some of her favorite plants.
