START LEADING, ERIN

OK, enough is enough.

It’s time for O’Toole to put on his big boy pants and start being a leader. It’s a sad day when Trudeau looks more like a leader than O’Toole.

You need to start cracking down on all these people who think they have the right not to get vaccinated and still have the same rights as everyone else who did their part and got the vaccine. You should start with your own group.

He’s falling down the same sinkhole as Jason Kenney, trying to keep everyone happy, and he’s losing credibility with most.

You can exercise your right not to get vaccinated and then you can exercise your right to stay home!

WAYNE BOYCE

PLACE CARLETON

(Makes sense.)

Can we get Stephen Harper back as prime minister? Pretty please? With sugar on top?

DIVIDED COUNCIL

My first introduction to civic politics was in 1953 when my father (a firefighter) came home very agitated to report that Mayor Charlotte Whitton had taken away their beloved Hartt boots and replaced them with an inferior brand because “firefighters never they were walking nowhere and he didn’t need such good boots. “

The mayor of a city in Ontario is a very powerful politician. They are the CEO, the chairman of the board of directors (councilors) and act as moderators at board meetings (and even vote last and have the last word).

Thus, I found myself tuning into the council meeting where the fate of an investigation would be determined, which I felt would be a defining factor for this administration. What I observed was animosity, disgust, a divided city council (some in favor of the mayor, others against) and a very toxic environment.

Public or judicial investigations are called by municipal, provincial or federal governments to review the events that cause public concern or outrage. Unlike a trial, the investigative process is investigative, rather than contradictory; Its purpose is to review those events to determine what happened and why, and most importantly, how to prevent them from happening again. This will not happen with this administration.

KANATA

(Especially not in an election year).

WITHOUT RESPECT

Anti-vaccine protesters in British Columbia, during a Remembrance Day ceremony honoring those who died for our freedoms, exemplify the selfish, authoritarian and despicable arrogance that pervades a minority in Canadian society.

These individuals lack moral conscience and speak in complete ignorance in a civil society. Their parents and educators have miserably failed to teach them respect, integrity, and responsibilities towards their fellow citizens.

PATRICK MASON

STITTSVILLE

(Indeed. There is a time and a place. This was not the time).
