HENLEY SAID WHAT MANY BELIEVE

Re: Both for corp. values; CBC’s Current Climate Abandons Journalistic Integrity and Adopts Radical Agendas, column, Jan. 4

Kudos to former CBC journalist Tara Henley for clarifying what many Canadians already believed – that CBC has become nothing more than a taxpayer-funded liberal propaganda machine to further its ideologically driven and awakened far-left agenda.

The CBC has lost its original purpose of helping to maintain Canadian culture and identity. It is time for the CBC to be privatized, forcing those who love it to continue spreading liberal dogma to pay for it.

IT’S BROKEN SO I FIX

I have two questions: Should taxpayers contribute more to our health care system, or does the system need to be reinvented, or perhaps both?

The rise of Omicron has highlighted something most older people have known all along: Our healthcare system is woefully inadequate. That includes hospital capacity.

One of the reasons Americans are treating this latest wave so lightly is that their hospitals have the capacity to deal with it. Not ours.

It is time for all levels of the Canadian government to wake up and fix the system.

WHO ARE THESE ADVISORS?

With the latest school closings on the advice of “medical advisers,” many questions remain unanswered. However, there is a question that must be asked, and it is this: Are any of these advisers doctors who are day after day with their feet on the ground, taking care of our children both physically and emotionally?

If there are any, I daresay, given the current situation with COVID-19, none of them would recommend the government to close our schools. Therefore, it would seem then that the majority rules. It would be like choosing a coal plant construction expert to oversee the construction of a nuclear plant.

MORE A ONTARIO THAN GTA

What I’d really like to know is since when has GTA become all over Ontario? Ottawa shows only 24 in the hospital and four in the ICU in the capital (as of January 4). Other regions are reporting the same low numbers in hospitals and ICUs.

According to Anthony Furey, there are 244 cases across Ontario in the ICU.

Most of the cases are in GTA, and people north, south, east, and west of GTA are paying the price.

It’s really a shame that Doug Ford thinks the GTA is all Ontario. You may find that when the elections come around, Ontario has more regions in addition to GTA.

I also hope Ford is giving the Liberals (Steven Del Duca) a very good push to get elected.

SOMETHING HAS TO CHANGE

Socialized medicine in Canada is failing fast.

Doctors and nurses continually report that they are at the end of their rope. They are exhausted with very few people in the hospital due to COVID.

The federal government has vastly underfunded hospitals in the provinces, and it could tell you in recent years how hospitals have failed us.

When the pandemic ends, something is going to have to happen to fix this problem. If it is about private hospitals where we have to pay for insurance, then that is the way we have to go.
