Janet YellenSecretary of the Treasury of the United States, urged the world Bank to develop “clear and ambitious goals” for global climate adaptation and energy transition.
In a statement to the joint steering committee of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, Yellen condemned Russia’s war in Ukraine.
Yellen further said that it had highlighted the consequences of reliance on fossil fuels.
“We must continue to develop and deploy renewable and zero-emission energy and reduce dependence on energy sources that are volatile,” he warned.
