Women request more payroll advances

Given the lack of liquidity, women resort more to payroll advances. Of the total number of users, 54% are female and 46% male, according to Paynom, a financial well-being platform.

“We believe that within the family’s financial well-being, the axis is the woman, we go to that niche, to attend to essential things such as paying the electricity bill or buying medicine,” explained Aroldo Dovalina, CEO of Paynom.

Paynom data reveals that 24% of advances are used to pay for services; 18% to settle debts and purchase food; 6% to medical emergencies and 2% to school fees.

little access to credit

Women have a credit rating of 275 points, less than men, who have 961 points, as shown by data from Prestadero, a collective financing institution.

Among other factors, the foregoing is due to the existing wage gap between the sexes and as well as the employment rate, which is 44.2% for women and 76.3% for men, according to Inegi.

Dovalina explained that one of the factors why her applicants are women may be due to the difficulties they face in accessing credit.

The director specified that in order to access financing, certain requirements must be met, such as the payment of commission for opening or guarantee of payment; while in the case of payroll advance, it is granted only if you have a salaried job.

Paynom is an investment promotion corporation (SAPI), which identifies itself as a financial well-being platform, in operation since 2015, to date it has operated more than 100 million pesos in transactions.
