The body of a woman was recovered Sunday morning by the Sureté du Québec (SQ) from the Rivière du Nord in the Laurentian community of Piedmont.
The SQ received a call shortly after 9 am from a citizen about the sighting of the body in the water, said SQ spokesperson Nicolas Scholtus. Piedmont is about 75 kilometers north of Montreal in the Pays-d’en-Haut regional county municipality
Details about the woman’s age or identity or how long she had been in the water were not yet available, he said.
