A woman in her 40s was taken to hospital after a collision with a car Monday night in the Montreal North district.

Montreal police said the incident occurred around 11:45 p.m. at the corner of Henri-Bourassa Blvd. and Salk Ave.

According to witnesses, the car was heading west on Henri-Bourassa Blvd. when it struck the woman, who was crossing north at the intersection. She was conscious as she was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life threatening. The 48-year-old driver was treated for nervous shock.

Police are investigating whether the woman was crossing at a red light.
