With technology they avoid waste of water in the distribution

For more than 28 years, the Mexican company Aguakan has focused on being proactive on the issue of water shortages, which precisely this 2022 “hit hard” at the national level, since states in the north and center of the country such as Nuevo León and the City of Mexico begin to really suffer what will be the water crisis, with cuts and limitation of the natural resource; of not implementing measures that mitigate droughts in time.

For this reason Aguakan has developed different educational programs for the protection and care of Water, as a social investment and as retribution to society and for the care of the environment; They have also worked in an alliance with schools and other companies to carry a message of preservation and sustainability.

“Currently there are more than 1,500 collaborators who are part of the company and carry out important work, in order to satisfy the demand for services to the growing population of the four municipalities in the north of Quintana Roo,” said Alejandra Mayorga Rodríguez, in charge of Social Responsibility in Aguakan, in an interview with El Economista.

Among the main proposals of this company, the “Water Tour” program stands out, in which they go to schools to teach children to relate better to the environment, in addition to helping them understand the importance of water, both in their bodies and in the planet. On average, this program affects more than 4,000 children and adolescents annually.

While with the “Open Doors” initiative, high school and university students visit the facilities (Treatment Plants, Quality and Measurement Laboratories), they can learn more about the urban water cycle and its impact on communities; in addition to knowing the entire process of wastewater sanitation.

But since the private environments in the houses and the family are important, in “Sustainable Homes”, we seek to bring to these spaces actions that favor their health and that of the planet, giving them as a main benefit, the opportunity to generate significant savings in their consumption of water, electricity, waste generation, and also an improvement in their quality of life through healthy habits.

And in the flagship program “No More Leaks” the problem of water waste is attacked from the root, this being one of the main reasons why it is scarce in large cities, which are also the places where there is the greatest waste.

Since 2017, Aguakan has implemented the “No More Leaks” program, which consists of the timely detection of leaks, through a specialized brigade, providing help and guidance to those who, during a certain period of time, present high consumption derived from a leakage in the internal installations of homes.

In addition, “during 2022, as part of Aguakan’s commitment to provide a comprehensive, efficient and sustainable service, and with an investment of more than 36 million pesos, more than 2,500 high-tech solar panels were installed in 3 Water Treatment Plants. Residual, which will make it possible to take advantage of solar energy, reduce the carbon footprint, thus seeking to preserve the environment”, highlighted Alejandra Mayorga.
