Environment Canada has issued a winter storm warning for the Montreal Island area, as well as Chateauguay, Laval, and Longueuil.

The federal agency says heavy snow will begin early Monday morning, and is expected to accumulate 6 to 10 inches as bad weather persists into the evening.

“Surfaces such as highways, roads, sidewalks and parking lots can become difficult to navigate due to snow accumulation,” the warning says.

This snow will mix strong winds to “give almost zero visibilities in the snow blowing over these regions,” the agency says.
