Winter blast leaves Saskatoon streets in a snowy mess – Saskatoon | The Canadian News

A flurry of snow made a mess on the streets of Saskatoon Tuesday morning.

The city said the streets are covered in snow and Circle Drive has a lane in some places because of the blowing snow.

Conditions are exacerbated by a layer of ice under the snow, the city said.

Crews spent the night cleaning main arteries, however city officials said the wind and continued snowfall worked against those efforts. They said accumulated snow is accumulating in the travel lanes, which could cause traffic delays.

The city said crews are focusing on keeping driving lanes clear on Circle Drive and on any street with three or more driving lanes.

The story continues below the ad.

Once the snow stops, crews will clear collection streets in neighborhoods.

Outside of Saskatoon, the Highway Hotline reports snow drifts and snow on all roads in and out of the city.

The latest road conditions can be found at Saskatchewan Highway Hotline.
