It’s another step towards normality for fans of the sport and the atmosphere was high at the start of the tournament.

“It feels good to come back here, just for the atmosphere,” suggested the mother of a hockey player, who made the way to Terrebonne.

Windsor presents the first hockey tournament of the year in Estrie. After the cancellation of the 2021 edition, the organizers had to postpone the tournament twice this year, before finally being able to take advantage of sanitary relaxations.

“We worked very hard. We were supposed to present it in January, we moved it to February and finally we can present it in March,” said director André Nadeau.

Of the 38 teams entered in the tournament, 18 come from outside the region. Several teams are sleeping in the various hotels in the city, but it is still early for the restaurants to take advantage of this.

“Before we received several calls for large groups. […] This year, with the sanitary measures still present, it is impossible for us, ”explained the manager at Johnny Resto, Valérie Lépine.

The finals will take place on March 13 and admission is free for everyone.
