According to officers with the Windsor Police Service’s Target Base Unit, numerous Transit Windsor stops in various locations have been subject to damage between October 2021 and February 2022.

The vandalism has ranged from graffiti to broken parts—and in some cases, lights and batteries have been stolen from advertisement display units.

While police said these incidents have occurred “city-wide,” at no specific time or area, the most recent rash took place Feb. 19 to 23 along Campbell Avenue.

Bus shelters were damaged at Campbell Avenue and Wyandotte Street West, at Campbell Avenue and Totten Street, and at Campbell Avenue and College Avenue.

There has also been recent damage to bus shelters on Tecumseh Road East at Central Avenue, and Jefferson Boulevard at Wyandotte Street East.

Residents and businesses of these areas are asked to report to police any suspicious activity they notice. Surveillance camera recordings should be checked for potential evidence.

Contact the Target Base Unit at 519-255-6700 ext. 4350.

Anonymous tips can be made via Crime Stoppers at 519-258-8477 or catchcrooks.com.
