Windsor Man Using Homemade Taser Charged With Drug Trafficking

A Windsor man faces numerous criminal charges after being seen in a ballistic vest with suspected weapons at the center.

Windsor Police Service officers on patrol at noon Wednesday noticed a man acting suspiciously in the Goyeau Street and Park Street East area. Police interacted with the man and noted that he was wearing what appeared to be a bulletproof vest with an alleged firearm in a holster.

The man was arrested without incident.

During their investigation, police seized fentanyl, methamphetamine, and crack cocaine, as well as cash, a homemade tasting-style gun, and airsoft pistols.

Codi Merilees, 34, is charged with two counts of carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a prohibited weapon and three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
