Windsor man charged after fatal accident in October

A 57-year-old Windsor man was arrested in connection with a hit-and-run accident in October that killed a Windsor senior, police said Friday afternoon.

Paul Roenspiess, 57, of Windsor was charged with failing to stay in the home causing death related to the October 15 accident in which Windsor’s 81-year-old father and grandfather died.

Roenspiess was arrested on November 5, although Windsor police announced the arrest on Friday.

The 81-year-old man, who was not identified by police, was found with life-threatening injuries around 7 a.m. Oct. 15 at the intersection of Janette Avenue and Elliott Street West. He was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
