Where to celebrate Saint-Jean-Baptiste in Fransaskois?




Battleford

On June 25, a family celebration will be organized from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the courtyard of École Père-Mercure.

Isabelle the Wonderful will be present to entertain the youngest.

Also present will be Cédric Delavaud, who will give a musical performance on the organ and will bring a series of traditional wooden stops.

There will also be inflatable games and a snack bar where it will be possible to buy frozen desserts.


Bellegarde

The celebrations will begin at 4 p.m. on June 24.

Many games will be organized by the Association Jeunesse fransaskoise.

The youngest will be entitled to make-up and inflatable games. There will also be animals to pet.

A community dinner will be organized between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

After the meal, a film for children will be shown in the gymnasium of the École de Bellegarde.

For older children, a painting workshop will be offered at 7 p.m., at a cost of $20.

The evening will end with a campfire at 7:30 p.m.


Gravelbourg

On the Gravelbourg side, the Welcoming Francophone Community of Moose Jaw and Gravelbourg, the Francophone Reception and Inclusion Service (SAIF-SK) and the Gravelbourg Community Association (ACFG) invite Fransaskois to the Center Culturel Maillard on June 26 at 12.

A brunch will be offered, followed by a magic show by Roger Boucher.

A bus will offer a return trip between Regina, Moose Jaw and Gravelbourg to facilitate the transport of people wishing to join in the festivities.

The Fransaskois of Moose Jaw will be able to gather for a 5 to 7 in barbecue format, on June 24.

The celebrations will take place at the offices of the Association communautaire fransaskoise de Moose Jaw.


prince albert

In Prince Albert, Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day will be celebrated on June 25 at 7 p.m. at École Valois.

Cédric Delavaud will provide participants with traditional wooden games. He will also perform a musical performance on the barrel organ.

For the youngest, Isabelle la Wonderful will offer balloon workshops, perform magic tricks and sing children’s songs.


Regina

The Association canadienne-française de Regina joins the parish of Saint-Jean-Baptiste for the festivities.

Residents of Régin are invited to gather on June 26 after Mass, at 12:30 p.m., for a community barbecue. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be on the menu.

There will also be games hosted by Cédric Delavaud for young and old.


St Denis

The Parish of Saint-Denis is hosting a community potluck supper on June 24, at 7 p.m., after mass.

In addition, the Fransaskois will meet on June 26 for the annual picnic, at 2 p.m., at the Saint-Denis Community Center.

They will be entitled to games of softball, a barbecue for dinner and a campfire.


Saint Isidore of Bellevue

On the Saint-Isidore de Bellevue side, the festivities took place on the evening of June 22 with a community barbecue.


Saskatoon

The Fransaskois of Saskatoon will meet on June 24, at 5 p.m., at the Pavillon Monique-Rousseau of the École canadienne-française.

Participants can buy pizza there. There will also be a cotton candy machine.

Participants will be able to attend a barrel organ performance.

A book fair will also be organised.


Zenon Park

The Association fransaskoise de Zenon Park (AFZP) will host artist Isabelle Mercier on June 24.

The latter will offer a show for children at 6:30 p.m., then another for older children at 8 p.m.

L’AFZP will take advantage of the festivities to unveil the new historical panels of the village.

Participants will also be treated to a community barbecue, children’s activities and a campfire. A bar will be available on site.

However, the Association fransaskoise de Zenon Park asks participants to bring their own folding chairs and a salad.
