The 36th edition of the Goya Awards 2022 will be held on February 12. The great Spanish cinema awards gala aims to recover the public and the pre-pandemic atmosphere this year, on a night that promises to be spectacular. Valencia becomes the host of the event, and the Palau de les Arts opens as the setting for the gala.

A new category is also inaugurated, that of the International Goya, which recognizes figures who “contribute to cinema as an art that unites cultures and viewers from all over the world.” Cate Blanchett will be the first to receive the award. The actress will star in ‘Manual for cleaning women’, an adaptation of Lucia Berlin’s book directed by Pedro Almodóvar from La Mancha.
