Major road works are planned for Roads 25 and 40 this weekend, as well as Route 136, the Quebec Ministry of Transportation said. This is what to expect:

Highway 25

Northbound Highway 25 will be completely closed between Highway 20 and Notre-Dame St. from 12:30 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday. This includes the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel. The freeway access ramps will be closed starting at 9:30 pm on Friday.

In Montreal, Highway 25 southbound will be partially closed between Souligny Ave. and the tunnel, with two lanes closed at night and one lane closed during the day on Saturdays and Sundays.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area throughout the weekend due to the risks of congestion in both directions.

Highway 40

Westbound Highway 40 will be completely closed between the Laurentian Autoroute and the Cavendish Blvd. entrance between 10 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday. The entire area should be avoided due to the risks of congestion.

The eastbound service road will be completely closed between Champ-d’Eau St. and Galeries d’Anjou Blvd. Overpasses from 9:30 pm on Friday to 5 am on Monday. Des Halles Ave. will be reserved for local traffic between Bélanger and Jean-Talon E. Sts.

The west side of the Île-aux-Tourtes bridge will be closed to traffic between Senneville and Vaudreuil-Dorion from 10 p.m. M. From Friday until 7:30 a.m. M. On Saturday, and from 10 p.m. M.
