Weekend plans | Culture for all

Are you looking for a cultural outing to brighten up your weekend? Here are the activity suggestions proposed by our journalists.

Miss Agnes at the Green Curtain

Sylvie Drapeau reprises her role as Agnès in this brilliant rereading of the Misanthrope of Rebekka Kricheldorf baptized Miss Agnes. Her character as a cultural critic who spares no one, not even her own children, is certainly one of her most striking roles in recent years. Around her, a solid cast of actors, including Éric Bernier, Stéphanie Cardi and Félix Lahaye. Louis-Karl Tremblay signs the Quebec adaptation and staging of this play created at the Prospero in 2022.

At the Green Curtain until 1er June

Japanese double at the Museum

Exhibition view Dream Landscapes by Andō Hiroshige

We’re in the middle of Japan Week in Montreal, so there’s no better time to visit the Andō Hiroshige exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts. The 55 prints describe the stops that travelers made on the Tōkaidō road, in as many stories. We see real productions which eloquently tell the story of Japan at the time (1834) and sometimes show landscapes dreamed of by the master. The institution has a lot of ideas since the Cinéma du Musée is hosting the first edition of the Japan Film Festival in Montreal this Thursday. We highly recommend a Japanese double!

The exhibition Dream Landscapes by Andō Hiroshige is presented at the MMFA until September 8. The Japan Film Festival runs from May 9 to 12.
