RCMP are responding to a threat at the airport and people are asked to avoid the airport for the next several hours
Flights inbound and outbound from Victoria International Airport are being diverted due to a police incident.
According to a social media post, the airport is closed to all commercial flights and travelers are being asked not to come to the airport and to check flight status with whichever airline people are traveling on.
The airport is not providing any comment to the media and has instead referred all calls to the RCMP.
As of 5 pm, three inbound flights have been canceled and three departures have been canceled.
According to the Saanich RCMP, police are responding to a threat at the airport and people are being asked to avoid the airport for the next several hours.
There are no public safety concerns, the RCMP said.
