Vancouver police are asking for witnesses in a hit-and-run that left a motorcyclist seriously injured last month.

The accident occurred around 11 p.m. on October 19 at the intersection of Hastings Street and Commercial Drive.

Police say the motorcyclist was traveling east on Hastings when he was struck by the driver of a gray or silver SUV making a left turn on Commercial Drive.

The driver of the truck did not stop and was last seen heading east on Hastings Street, police said.

The 19-year-old motorcyclist was taken to hospital and treated for serious, non-life-threatening injuries. They have since been released and are recovering at home.

Police are asking for anyone with information about the vehicle or driver to come forward. The suspected vehicle would have “significant damage to the rear passenger side,” police said.

Investigators are also asking anyone who saw the crash or filmed dash cam video in the area on the night of October 19 to contact the Vancouver Police Collision Investigation Unit.
