Union of Mayors presumes rehabilitation of public spaces as achievements in his first month of government

Derived from having completed a month of government, the Union of Mayors of Mexico City (UNACDMX) reported that as initial actions they have focused on the rehabilitation of public spaces and generating greater investment spaces.

The UNACDMX spokesperson, Giovanni Gutiérrez Aguilar, released a preliminary report on the public policies implemented by the mayoralties of Álvaro Obregón, Azcapotzalco, Benito Juárez, Coyoacán, Cuajimalpa, Cuauhtémoc, Magdalena Contreras, Miguel Hidalgo and Tlalpan.

The mayor of Coyoacán also explained that they have focused on two main routes, the first has been to meet the needs of the population, while the second has focused on putting the administrations in order so that the benefits are long-term ; both points are also under two models of administration that have been successful, those of the mayors of Cuajimalpa and Benito Juárez.

“These results are already visible in all colonies. We focus on the recovery of public spaces, recovery of lighting and streets, attention to requests from neighbors, ”he said.

As an example, he elaborated that in Coyoacán in the span of a month, the image of nine parks and gardens was changed, 610 luminaires have been repaired and more than 30 new ones have been installed, 169 water leaks were also attended and 860 water services have been carried out. unzip.

“We have not focused solely on one problem, we have been having a complete overview of all the citizens’ needs, with this, we have not only been changing the faces of the city halls, citizens are beginning to move through safe, well-lit and well-lit spaces. with fairways in good condition ”, he commented.

Meanwhile, the mayor of Álvaro Obregón, Lía Limón García, specified that they have focused on the liberation of roads, such as Boulevard de La Luz, San Ángel, Chimalistac, as well as on the ordering of tianguis, such as Golondrinas.

Likewise, they have changed more than 1,800 lights, attended to 183 leaks and 144 desoling points, in addition to moving 230 pipes.

“We have benefited 20 neighborhoods, we have made seven days of urban services to improve parks and neighborhoods with actions that include pruning, maintenance of green areas, removal of gravel,” he said.

Lía Limón said that in order to generate more safe spaces and thereby improve the quality of life, as well as attract more investment, five security operations were started in the demarcation, “we seek to be present in the quadrants with the highest crime rate.”

While the mayor of Tlalpan, Alfa González Magallanes, pointed out that the public works program achieved the resurfacing of 96,000 square meters in nine neighborhoods with an investment of 75 million pesos.

For her part, the mayor of Azcapotzalco, Margarita Saldaña Hernández, explained that it was already possible to establish the economic reactivation for the demarcation on Friday, therefore from November 5 a job exchange will be established permanently, as well as a single window of paperwork.

He specified that citizens are also about to be established on Wednesdays, which is the day when residents of the demarcation are served, more than 1,000 people have been served.

Meanwhile, in terms of improving infrastructure and urban spaces, more than six housing units have been served.

Budget

The mayor of Miguel Hidalgo, Mauricio Tabe, summoned his counterparts from Mexico City and the head of government, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, to attend the Chamber of Deputies next week to request a larger budget.

He indicated that they will request support to establish a dialogue between legislators and mayors on the needs of Mexico City and the mayors.

“I would be calling the following week, if you allow me, what we could go to the Chamber of Deputies, also inviting the head of government to accompany us, the mayors who are in other political forces, to go together to talk about what the city needs, what the neighbors need ”, he stated.
