Hard to fault the election, as the voting has been overwhelmingly massive: 66,683 readers of ‘Cata Mayor’, EL PERIÓDICO’s gastronomic channel, have seen fit to issue their verdict among the 10 finalist establishments that our chronicler, Pau Arenós, had previously selected, who has visited dozens of businesses in 2021.
At the end, the choice of the ‘number one’ has fallen on Ultramarinos Marín (Balmes, 187) after a very close vote. In fact, early on December 31, he was tied with Besta. Each one collected 37% of the votes, but in a spectacular final sprint he broke the tie to take 43% (28,592) against 36% of his rival (24,209). Behind them, Adobo has completed the podium, with 12% of the vote (7,898 votes).
