Ukrainian Foreign Minister accuses NATO of doing nothing against Russia

The Ukrainian Minister of External relationships, Dmytro Kulebaaccused on Wednesday the NATO of “doing literally nothing” to respond to the Russian invasion of his country, but praised the “revolutionary decisions” of the European Union (EU).

“NATO as an alliance, as an institution, has been totally sidelined and is doing absolutely nothing. I’m sorry to say,” Kuleba told the Davos World Economic Forum (Swiss).

The EU, on the other hand, has “adopted revolutionary, innovative decisions,” he added.

When Russia invaded Ukraineon February 24, the Ukrainians “had the impression that NATO was “a powerful force” and that the European Union “I was only able to express varying degrees of concern,” Kuleba said.

“But war is always a test that makes the masks fall,” he added.

Some member countries of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), however “they are helping us”, clarified the Ukrainian foreign minister.

Ukraine has long lamented NATO’s lack of clarity on its membership bid, which it vehemently opposes Russia.

The EU has decreed an arsenal of sanctions against Russia since the beginning of the war and is even seeking an agreement to impose an embargo on Russian oil imports.
