In Canada, two out of three believe Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has the potential to escalate into a world war, according to the poll released Thursday.

Nearly nine in ten Canadians (89%) are “personally concerned” about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

As for equities, 45% of Canadians believe in imposing tougher economic sanctions against Russia and 21% believe in entering into negotiations to “reach a peaceful compromise”.

Conducted among 1,004 Americans and 1,519 Canadians, the survey also shows that 37% of Canadians trust the leadership of Justin Trudeau to lead Canada in this type of conflict. Among our neighbors to the south, 39% of Americans would trust Joe Biden.
