Ukraine: Mélanie Joly back in Europe

Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly will set foot in Europe for the second time since the Russian invasion of Ukraine to meet her counterparts in support of Zelensky’s country.

Ms. Joly will have to go to Finland, Germany and Belgium.

“The war in Ukraine affects us all, and we must work together with the international community to respond to the heinous acts of Vladimir Putin,” Mélanie Joly said in a statement on Saturday.

In particular, she must meet her Finnish counterpart Pekka Haavisto in order to coordinate their efforts on Arctic issues, and to combat the disinformation that has prevailed since the start of the conflict.

The Minister will then participate in the Moldova Support Platform Conference to be held in Berlin, Germany.

Several meetings of G7 and NATO foreign ministers will eventually take place in Brussels, Belgium, with the aim of strengthening regional security in Eastern Europe.
