Two motorists seriously injured in a frontal collision near Bécancour

The two drivers in their 30s were taken to hospital, where their lives are in danger.

At around 5:30 pm on Friday, emergency services were called to come to the scene of a frontal collision on Highway 30 near Bécancour.

A minivan was traveling east while a small vehicle was heading west when the two collided.

One of the two vehicles is believed to have deviated from its lane. The circumstances surrounding the incident are not yet known.

The two drivers in their 30s were taken to hospital, where their lives are in danger.

The two men were the only ones in the vehicles, said Catherine Bernard, a spokeswoman for the Sureté du Québec.

An accident investigator goes to the scene to determine the causes and circumstances of the accident.

Highway 30 remains closed at kilometer 220.
