Two bottles of the world’s oldest single-malt Scotch whiskey will go on sale next week through BC Liquor, each costing you the down payment for a modest Vancouver shoebox condo — which is a lot.

Just 250 bottles of the whiskey were made available worldwide and two of those — bottle #100 and #108 — will be coming to BCL’s Cambie and 39th location.

The whiskey was first barreled during the Second World Ward by Gordon and MacPhail, a family business founded in 1895 and owned by the Urquhart family.

The whiskey is sold in a decanter designed by architect Sir David Adjaye OBE, inspired by the theme “Artistry in Oak.”

Those interested in purchasing either bottle will need to submit their name to an in-store draw on April 26 between 5 and 8 pm at the 5555 Cambie St. store. The draw will take place at 8:15 pm and the winner must be present in order to buy the whisky.
